Nexans in Russia
Nexans company appeared in Russia in 1996 with opening of the representative office in Moscow. In 2006 engineering and building of first plant at the territory of Russian Federation started in Uglich (Yaroslavsky region). Official ceremony of opening took place in November 2008. At first stage the plant produced low voltage cables, but from July 2009 middle voltage cables (up to 35 kV) are manufactured. This plant is equipped with modern high-technical appliances and instruments thus all the production if of high quality and is complied with strict requirements and environmental standards, All the national and international standards are met. Plant in Russia gives the opportunity to have good price and it shortens time for production and delivery. Nexans office in Moscow works as one whole, work in close correspondence with clients, make orders, follow up all the stages of the orders, production and delivery. Technical department make all the calculations and engineering, find better design of cables, make all the necessary technical changes. Confidence of most strict and critical clients is coming from real situation – if necessary Moscow office arrange trips to Uglich plant for the clients to approve quality and high technology and clients can see the production process with their own eyes. Main line of work of Russian office is production and sales of MV and HV cables. HV cables (up to 500kV) are manufactured now at European plants, but soon Nexans has plans to open high voltage line in Uglich (up to 220 kV). In future company plans to open offices in the south of Russia, Siberia, Far East. But even now you can buy Uglich production in every city due to wide network of distributors shops and offices all over Russia.
One of the main clients of Nexans in Russia is JSC «MRSK Holding». Technicians of holding often take part in different events, came to Nexans plants. It is necessary to emphasize that AERO-Z wires were recommended as high quality products by holding technicians. These cables were used in Russia for the power line 110 kV at the south first time and during its work shows their advantages. Such lines were built for the line through Amur at the Far East. Among Nexans projects are many airports of the world , Baikonur, the biggest cruise liner Mary Queen II, Airbus А-380, Moscow and Saint-Petersburg metro stations. We should mention some unique projects with Nexans cables: cables at the seabed of Anadyr at Chukotka, more than 700 km of HV and EHV cables at Baikal bottom for power supply of Olkhon island. Now Nexans arrange manufacturing and supply ice-resistant fire retardant cable for marine ice-resistant stationary oil platform Prirazlomnaya in the Barents sea.
